Designed for the K20A engine.
- Please check your connector matches the header in the listed photo before purchasing.
- This ECU works for manual transmissions only.
- ECU includes an onboard 7 bar MAP sensor.
- Most factory features are supported.
- Check the features tab for I/O expansion options
Note: This Plug-in features a new 4 pin powered CAN connector and cannot use the old CANPCB cable for CAN connection. Use the CANJST4 (Code 101-0198) cable for connecting CAN devices. This new 4 pin port and cable provide not only the CAN connection, but also a protected 12V power supply and ground for powering the CAN devices. The power supply is protected by a self-resetting fuse rated at 3A continuous.

Buyer FAQ & Comparison
Does the G4X replace my OEM ECU or work alongside it (piggyback)?
The LINK G4X is a full standalone ECU — it physically replaces your OEM unit inside the factory enclosure. There is no OEM ECU in the loop, so there is no risk of signal interference, conflicting fueling commands, or communication errors that are common with piggyback interceptors. Once installed, the G4X has complete, unshared authority over all engine functions it manages.
What does the G4X actually control on a K20A?
The G4X manages fuel delivery (sequential injection, staged injection), ignition timing, cam phasing (precision closed-loop VTC control for all four cams independently), idle, boost (if boosted), knock detection with windowing, and motorsport features such as anti-lag, launch control, and flat-shift. It also handles sensor inputs (including the onboard 7 bar MAP sensor), real-time data logging (512 MB on-board), and outputs for compatible factory actuators. Most OEM factory features are retained — check the LINK features tab for I/O expansion details specific to your build.
Will this fit an automatic transmission K20A application?
No. This ECU is engineered and validated for manual transmission vehicles only. Automatic transmission variants have different wiring pinouts and TCU communication requirements that are not supported by this plug-in. Please verify your transmission type before ordering.
What MAP sensor does it include, and do I need to buy one separately?
The G4X includes an onboard 7 bar MAP sensor — no external MAP sensor purchase is required for most builds. The 7 bar range accommodates naturally aspirated and moderately forced-induction K20A setups. If your build requires an external reference or additional pressure sensing, the CAN port and I/O expansion options can accommodate that.
What CAN cable do I need, and why can't I use my old CANPCB cable?
This G4X plug-in uses a new 4-pin powered CAN connector that is not compatible with the older CANPCB cable. You need the CANJST4 cable (part 101-0198). Beyond CAN data, this cable also delivers a protected 12V supply and ground (self-resetting 3A fuse) to power CAN devices — a meaningful upgrade over the older interface. Using the wrong cable will prevent CAN devices (dashes, wideband controllers, etc.) from connecting.
Can I tune this myself, or do I need a professional tuner?
LINK's PC Link software (included) is free and fully featured. Experienced tuners and advanced DIYers can use QuickTune (automated fuel self-tuning) for a baseline map and refine from there. However, for any significant power modifications — upgraded cams, forced induction, injector changes, or high-compression builds — a dyno session with a qualified tuner is strongly recommended to optimize fuel and ignition maps safely and extract full performance. JD Tuning offers in-person dyno tuning if you're looking for local professional calibration.
How does the G4X compare to a piggyback (e.g., Hondata FlashPro / KPro) for a K20A build?
The main difference is the ECU architecture. The Link G4X replaces the factory ECU electronics and provides standalone engine management with configurable inputs, outputs, CAN communication and motorsport functions. Hondata KPro modifies a compatible factory ECU to make it programmable. KPro and FlashPro should not be described as conventional piggyback systems. Check compatibility with your exact vehicle and ECU before comparing options. (dealers.linkecu.com, hondata.com)
What support resources are available after purchase?
LINK provides comprehensive documentation including the official G4X HC20X manual, PC Link help files, and an active community forum. JD Tuning can assist with tuning referrals and dyno appointments. For warranty or technical support, contact LINK ECU directly through their official channels.
