All Vehicles – Pre-Tuning Checklist
- Battery / Charging System: Must be in good condition with a properly functioning charging system.
- Fuel: Bring the exact fuel (or fuels) you plan to be tuned on, with enough fuel for the session (no near-empty tanks).
- Check Engine Light: NONE. Some CELs can be disabled—if you’re unsure about yours, feel free to message us ahead of time.
- Tires: Preferably street tires or drag radials. Slicks may get damaged on the dyno.
- Fluids: Bleed the cooling system, install fresh oil & filter, and ensure proper transmission fluid level.
- Spark Plugs: Correct heat range and properly gapped for your setup. If you have any concerns, message us beforehand.
- Alignment: Vehicle should be properly aligned. Poor alignment can affect horsepower readings and cause excessive tire wear.
- Leaks: Vehicle must NOT have any fluid leaks.
Boosted Vehicles
- Boost Control Setup: Ensure boost solenoids/controllers are wired and plumbed correctly. If you’re unsure, we can guide you before your appointment.
- Boost / Vacuum Leaks: All connections (clamps, lines, gaskets, etc.) must be secure and properly tightened to ensure an efficient session.
Nitrous Vehicles
- System Readiness: Full nitrous bottle, properly wired solenoids, bottle heater, and a pressure gauge are required.
Note: 2015+ Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/RAM vehicles need the PCM Modification Service to unlock the PCM before tuning.
Note: 2017+ GM 8-Speed and 10-Speed Transmission Control Modules require unlock via HP tuners GM TCM Unlock service before tuning.
